YSC is a boutique professional services firm specialising in leadership consulting, helping organisations identify and develop the leaders they need to achieve their business goals. The firm has deep expertise in psychometric testing and leadership assessment.
The business problem
YSC had a wealth of data on leaders, their teams and the broader organisations it worked with, but lacked the technology and data science capability to use it effectively. Data collection was limited and the firm was under increasing pressure from clients to show innovation and measurable impact. Its face-to-face delivery model was time-intensive, and there was a clear opportunity to use data to improve both the depth of insight and the efficiency of delivery.
What we did
Red Olive worked alongside YSC to develop a data modelling and data science programme. We helped the firm think through the best way to gather, store and use its data, and built out the technology platform to put data at the heart of the business.
This included designing a data strategy, building data sets, and creating models that could deliver personalised insight to clients. The work enabled YSC to start using data from leadership assessments to turn the dial on measurable organisational change.
The results
Data quality improved by 100%. The firm achieved a 10% time saving per consultant per assessment, with potential to reach 50%. YSC can now have data-driven conversations with clients that were not previously possible, and the platform has opened up new services and revenue streams for the business.
The results
YSC is at an early but promising point in its data science journey, having set itself up to collect data it did not previously have access to. The programme will support continued transformation as the firm develops more sophisticated, data-driven services for its clients.
