The Hyde Group is one of the largest housing associations in and around Greater London, providing homes for 100,000 residents in 50,000 properties across the capital, south-east, east of England and East Midlands.
The business problem
Performance metrics were shared periodically as static PDFs compiled from various departments. Some elements could date more quickly than others, making it difficult to spot trends or head off developing issues between updates. The organisation needed a more interactive way to present its KPIs, with clear metadata explaining how each metric was defined, sourced and owned.
What we did
Red Olive implemented a KPI dashboard using Microsoft Power BI, breaking the business into core functional areas and presenting performance as numeric scores on colour-coded backgrounds. Clicking any metric exposes metadata describing its source, owner and calculation method.
We worked alongside the Hyde Group’s own team so they could maintain and extend the dashboard themselves after delivery. Red Olive completed the work within a tight two-month deadline.
The results
The organisation’s data is now more visible and consistently classified across departments. Staff can monitor compliance, track performance in real time, and identify issues as they emerge. The dashboard has been extended several times in-house since its initial rollout.
Looking ahead
The Hyde Group is building towards a single data platform accessible to any authorised person or service, exploring advanced analytics, IoT-based predictive maintenance and wider self-service capabilities.
